Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio May 2023

ASTROLOGYBOX Posted on May 3, 2023 by JanetteMay 3, 2023

A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth overshadows the moon and temporarily blocks the light reflected from the moon.  This lunar eclipse is penumbral, which means a faint shadow of the earth is visible on the edge of the moon, and so its effect is more subtle.

Lunar eclipses or big full moons are times of completion, culmination, and closure.  This eclipse is a south node eclipse, meaning that the moon is within 18 degrees of the south node.  The South Node represents our individual and collective past and is often seen as a drain or release point.  A moon south node combination can pull us back to the past and highlight unresolved emotional issues for healing and resolution. With Mercury retrograde in the mix, we might be thinking about the past or ruminating over past events.

The Moon and South Node are in Scorpio, an intensely emotional sign associated with power, control, and transformation.  Pluto, ruler of Scorpio and mythological Lord of the Underworld, symbolises that which is hidden; deeply buried secrets, hidden agendas, issues of trust and betrayal as well as hidden resources and buried treasure.  Pluto is squaring the nodal axis, magnifying its influence.

The Sun, always opposite the Moon at a full moon, is in Taurus.  The Taurus Scorpio axis is the axis of resources, Taurus representing physical, manifest actual things and Scorpio more subtle inner power and resourcefulness as well as collective or shared resources such as stock markets, joint finances, or the resources of the earth.  With Uranus conjunct the Sun, expect some volatility in collective resources such as financial markets or seismic activity.  On a personal level Uranus exposes often shocking truths and with piercing clarity awakens us to the truth of our being.

This eclipse supports us to let go of any thing or anyone who is draining our energy and is not aligned with our truth, to let go of our past stories which define us in a limited way, to reclaim and harness our inner power and resources so that we might create and manifest anew.

Experiential Astrology

ASTROLOGYBOX Posted on January 25, 2013 by administratorJanuary 29, 2017

Experiential astrology is a gentle and powerful technique which accesses the client’s own innate healing and transformative energies – as such, it is a practice that has its own inbuilt healing and spiritual power. It encourages clients to directly feel and experience (rather than intellectualise) the energy of their individual astrological chart and to communicate directly with their own unconscious as symbolized by their astrological symbols and signs.   The zodiac is placed on the floor and the planets laid out according to the client’s astrology chart.  The client then enters this sacred circle and embarks on a symbolic journey, guided … Continue reading →
